Oprah Winfrey and her expanding business empire

True Food Kitchen

She's a media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist worth $3 billion USD!

Oprah's latest investment is True Food Kitchen, a healthy restaurant chain backed by celebrity doctor Andrew Weil. The specific terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Phoenix-based chain said she's also joining the restaurant's board of directors and will collaborate and consult with True Food Kitchen's leadership team.

True Food Kitchen has grown to 23 locations in 10 states since it was founded in 2008. The company plans to double its store count within the next three years with a focus on an east coast expansion.

Oprah is dubbed the "Queen of All Media".

She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest rated television program of its kind in history and was nationally televised from 1986 to 2011 in Chicago, Illinois. Credited with creating a more intimate confessional form of media communication, many say Oprah revolutionized the tabloid talk shows.

A woman that came from nothing to rise up to be one of the most powerful woman in the world, Oprah may arguably have more influence on the culture than many politicians, presidents, and religious leaders.

The power of Winfrey's opinions and endorsement has influenced public opinion, markets, and even voting elections.
